Hi! I'm Hiroki, the founder of Sip & Shodo TOKYO:)My path has been an interesting blend of technology and tradition. As an engineer, I've been working at tech companies, Oracle, Amazon and Sony, spending my days in the digital world. But it was Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) that helped me find balance and mindfulness in our fast-paced modern life. For me, Japanese calligraphy is a moment of peace and a form of meditation through art. This experience was born from my wish to share this beautiful aspect of Japanese culture in a way that's both authentic and accessible by pairing meditative art of Japanese calligraphy with local drinks.I've been practicing Shodo for several years and my artistic passion led me to the pages of 不二 (Fuji), a prestigious monthly calligraphy magazine, where my Shodo works have been featured several times. My international experience (I have studied and worked in United States, Ireland, Spain and Japan) has given me a unique perspective on Japanese culture and I've designed the experience that bridges cultures and creates lasting memories. Whether you're a tech enthusiast like me, an art lover, or simply curious about Japanese culture, I look forward to sharing this unique journey with you!
